Homecoming Week!

We all had a blast during homecoming week. The most fun part about it was Carlie was nominated for a Homecoming Queen contestant. There were 21 girls in all. Carlie filled out a question ere sheet, and the first homecoming assembly she was escorted by Kyler Olson as they read the paper she filled out. The student body then voted the contestants they thought should be in the top ten. Carlie was one of them, so she got to be in the second assembly. She was escorted by her dad, and she also got to show a cute little slide show of her life. The girls also performed a VERY cute skit. Carlie didn't make it to the final three contestants, but she was perfectly fine with that. She still had so much fun, and that's what matters most. Carlie also played powder puff football, and of course everyone dressed up each day of the week. The next day, Carlie went to the homecoming dance. She went with Cody Stock. They went mountain biking for their day date, (Carlie wrecked and came back with some cuts) ate dinner, went to the dance for only about an hour, and then ended their date with the boys jumping off the train bridge! Brrrrrrr. She really enjoyed her night.

Funeral Home

Here is what the funeral home looked like 2 or 3 weeks ago. It now has concrete, black top, siding, some of the rock done, and everything is sheet rocked. We don't have any pictures though, but hopefully we will get some soon. We are really liking how it's coming along and can't wait to see what it will look like in a month or so!

Senior Pictures

Carlie got some of her senior pictures taken yesterday. She still is going to get some more though. Here are just a few of the many that were taken. I love how they turned out. She is a beautiful young woman.

Bobcat Volleyball

Lacy and Kasiah had their first volleyball game of the year on the same day, at the same time in different gyms. They both are having a lot of fun playing. Lacy is the setter on her team. She does a really good job with that, not to mention she has a killer serve. Kasiah is picking up on it really quickly under Lacy's instruction. She is really playing well too. She is so little that her teammates call her their "baby" and have even have tried to pack her around like one. If you want to learn volleyball you better stop by our house around 7-8 at night, I'm sure they'll be in the back yard practicing. Go Bobcat Volleyball!!!

Twin Falls Temple Youth Cultural Celebration

The Youth Cultural Celebration was a great success. The kids worked very hard, with a lot of practice and most days a good attitude. On the night of Saturday Aug 24th it all paid off when they saw our dear prophet Thomas S. Monson enter the stadium in Filer. It was so neat to see the faces of all the youth and their smiles. I wish I could have watched it again. I thought our stake did an excellent job with their mexican dance. Kasiah and Lacy got to do a clogging special number with the Twin Falls and Filer Stake. They did really good on that too. We even saw our old neighbors the Garrards there, which was really fun. By the time we all got home Saturday night the girls were so dusty and Lacy's feet were bleeding from blisters, but so grateful we all got to be a part of it.

Cassia County Fair

Here are our pictures of our 2008 Cassia County Fair. The week went by fast. We had a lot of fun with pigs, performing on the free stage, and for the kids just hanging out with friends. Thank-goodness the weather was so nice. Another summer over.
